Kannur Sri Kamakshiamman kovil is situated in the heart of Kannur, kerala at P.K. Road, Kannur. The presiding deity is Sri Kamakshiamman in the roopa of santha swaroopam. The upadevas are as following. 1. RUDRATHANDAVA MOORTHY – (Chodalamadan/Smasanavasm) 2. GURU – Adhi guru of Khestrastalam 3. ASWATHA NAGA VINAYAKAR – The sanctum sanctoruim is installed with Naga prathista along with Vinayakar behind the banyan (Aswatha) tree. 4. UCHUMA KALI – Kaval Deivam 5. DURGA (RAHU) 6. SRI BALA SUBRAMANIYAM The renouned temple is said to be 700 years old, and was worshipped with sankalpa prathista as Thrisoolam. It seems the same was worshipped by divine saint as his Ishtadevada Sri. Kamakshiamman. The saint at present we presume as GURU, on his journey or divine yatra found this place as sacred, hence discontinued his yatra and started his rituals and poojas at this sanctity. It is told that the Divine Guru has reached his ultimate and still living in this premises. Hence the GURU is worshipped and all the developments and worships are as per his desire and blessings. The presiding Deity is Sri Kamakshiamman as Santhaswaroopini with uthumma Trikala poojas under the supervision of learned priests. Many was blessed by Sri. Kamakshiamman for health, Marriage, Children and Wealth. The renovation work have started with superior carved granite for constructing sanctum sanctorum in the year 1986. Accordingly sanctum sanctoruim was constructed according to tantric rites under the close supervision of renouned temple Architect Sri. Swatharanyam Stapathi, Pollachi, Tamilnadu. The Prathista/Kumbabishekam was performed from 05-04-1992 to 08-04-1992 by Kovil Thantri SRI SRI SHIVA SHANMUGHA GHANACHARYA GURUSWAMIGAL, TIRUVANNAMALAI, TAMIL NADU and his team on the auspicious day of month Meenam, MAKEERIYAM STAR. Every year on the month of Malayalam month meenam, Makeeriyam star Pratista Dinam is performed for three days by the presence of GURUSWAMIGAL and team (Thantri). Also Maha Kumbabishekam was performed on the 12th year ie during the year 2004. The second stage of renovation viz construction of Mahamandapam is the everlasting dream of the committee. Further as third stage Maha rajagopuram is in the master planning Day by day Devotees are increasing due to the blessings of Sri. Kamakshiaman.
കണ്ണൂർ ശ്രീ കാമാക്ഷിയമ്മൻ കോവിൽ സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നത് കണ്ണൂരിന്റെ ഹൃദയഭാഗത്ത് പി.കെ. റോഡ്, കണ്ണൂർ ശാന്ത സ്വരൂപത്തിലെ ശ്രീ കാമാക്ഷിയമ്മനാണ് പ്രതിഷ്ഠ. ഉപദേവതകൾ താഴെ പറയുന്നവയാണ്. 1. രുദ്രതാണ്ഡവ മൂർത്തി - (ചോടലമാടൻ / ശ്മശാനവാസം) 2. ഗുരു - ഖേസ്ത്രസ്ഥലത്തിന്റെ ആദി ഗുരു 3. അശ്വത നാഗ വിനായകർ - ആൽമരത്തിന് (അശ്വത) പിന്നിൽ നാഗപ്രതിഷ്ഠയ്‌ക്കൊപ്പം ശ്രീകോവിലിൽ നാഗപ്രതിഷ്ഠയും സ്ഥാപിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. 4. ഉച്ചുമ കാളി - കാവൽ ദൈവം 5. ദുർഗ്ഗ (രാഹു) 6. ശ്രീ ബാല സുബ്രഹ്മണ്യം 700 വർഷം പഴക്കമുള്ളതായി പറയപ്പെടുന്നു, സങ്കൽപപ്രതിഷ്ഠയോടെ തൃശൂലം എന്ന പേരിൽ ആരാധിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു. ദിവ്യ സന്യാസി തന്റെ ഇഷ്ടദേവദ ശ്രീയായി ആരാധിച്ചിരുന്നത് അതുതന്നെയാണെന്ന് തോന്നുന്നു. കാമാക്ഷിയമ്മൻ. ഇപ്പോൾ നാം ഗുരുവായി അനുമാനിക്കുന്ന സന്യാസി, തന്റെ യാത്രയിലോ ദിവ്യയാത്രയിലോ ഈ സ്ഥലം പവിത്രമായി കണ്ടെത്തി, അതിനാൽ തന്റെ യാത്ര അവസാനിപ്പിക്കുകയും ഈ വിശുദ്ധിയിൽ തന്റെ ആചാരങ്ങളും പൂജകളും ആരംഭിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. ദിവ്യഗുരു തന്റെ പരമമായ അവസ്ഥയിൽ എത്തിയെന്നും ഇപ്പോഴും ഈ പരിസരത്ത് വസിച്ചുവെന്നും പറയപ്പെടുന്നു. അതിനാൽ ഗുരുവിനെ ആരാധിക്കുന്നു, എല്ലാ വികസനങ്ങളും ആരാധനകളും അവന്റെ ആഗ്രഹത്തിനും അനുഗ്രഹത്തിനും അനുസരിച്ചാണ്. ശാന്തസ്വരൂപിണിയായി ശ്രീകാമാക്ഷിയമ്മൻ, പണ്ഡിത പുരോഹിതരുടെ മേൽനോട്ടത്തിൽ ഉത്സാഹ ത്രികാല പൂജകളോടെയാണ് പ്രതിഷ്ഠ. പലരും അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു. ആരോഗ്യം, വിവാഹം, സന്താനം, സമ്പത്ത് എന്നിവയ്ക്ക് കാമാക്ഷിയമ്മൻ 1986-ൽ ശ്രീകോവിലിന്റെ നിർമ്മാണത്തിനായി ഉയർന്ന കൊത്തുപണികളുള്ള കരിങ്കല്ല് കൊണ്ട് നവീകരണ പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങൾ ആരംഭിച്ചു. അതനുസരിച്ച് പ്രശസ്ത ക്ഷേത്ര വാസ്തുശില്പിയായ ശ്രീയുടെ മേൽനോട്ടത്തിൽ താന്ത്രിക ആചാരപ്രകാരമാണ് ശ്രീകോവിൽ നിർമ്മിച്ചത്. സ്വതന്ത്ര്യം സ്ഥപതി, പൊള്ളാച്ചി, തമിഴ്നാട്. 05-04-1992 മുതൽ 08-04-1992 വരെ കോവിൽ തന്ത്രി ശ്രീ ശ്രീ ശിവ ഷൺമുഖ ഘണാചാര്യ ഗുരുസ്വാമികൾ, തിരുവണ്ണാമലൈ, തമിഴ്നാട്, തമിഴ്നാട് എന്നിവരും അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ സംഘവുമാണ് പ്രതിഷ്ഠ/കുംബാഭിഷേകം നടത്തിയത്. എല്ലാ വർഷവും മലയാളമാസമായ മീനമാസത്തിൽ ഗുരുസ്വാമിമാരുടെയും സംഘത്തിന്റെയും (തന്ത്രി) സാന്നിധ്യത്തിൽ മൂന്ന് ദിവസം മേക്കേരിയം നക്ഷത്രം പ്രതിഷ്ഠാ ദിനം നടത്തപ്പെടുന്നു. കൂടാതെ 12-ാം വർഷം അതായത് 2004-ൽ മഹാ കുംബാഭിഷേകം നടത്തി. മഹാമണ്ഡപത്തിന്റെ രണ്ടാം ഘട്ട നവീകരണവും നിർമ്മാണവും കമ്മിറ്റിയുടെ ചിരകാല സ്വപ്നമാണ്. മഹാരാജഗോപുരം മൂന്നാം ഘട്ടമായതിനാൽ ശ്രീയുടെ അനുഗ്രഹത്താൽ അനുദിനം ഭക്തജനത്തിരക്ക് വർദ്ധിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുകയാണ്.
