Chakrapuram Sri Narasimha Lakshminarayana Sri Krishna Temple is a rare temple dedicated to the three aspects of Lord Vishnu with equal significance. What makes Chakrapuram different is that it is built entirely of black stone.
Chakrapuram Temple, worshiped by the ancients as Putro Kulom, is one of the eighteen and a half temples of Thazhakattu Mana. In the Chakrapuram temple, the three spirits of Lord Vishnu in different guises are housed in a circle, with Lakshminarayanaswamy in a cornerless circle and Narasimhamoorthy and Sri Krishna in a square shape. Ganapati, Sastav and Bhagwati are worshiped as deities inside the temple and Brahmarakshas outside the temple.
The deity of Lord Krishna is seen holding butter in his hand and going to the gopaghehas of Ambadi and performing magic.
Lakshmi and Narayanan are the goddesses of wealth, prosperity, status and protection. The presence of Lakshminarayana is enshrined in the same idol as the concept of Ardhanareeswara.
Chakrapurathappan is the name of the angry Ugranarasimhamoorthy. The deity is worshiped in the idol of Lord Vishnu, Chaturbahu. Chakrapurathappan is a Ugranarasimha deity who wears a jatadhari and a regular poonol and holds the wheel back in his right hand in the practice chakra.
The west-facing deity, the pool in front of the sanctum sanctorum, and the chakradhari Narasimhamoorthy, who is eager to exterminate the enemy, all show signs of war. The function of the wheel is to suppress the enemy. Narasimhamoorthy, the Prayoga Chakradhari, is dangerous and auspicious.
