About Temple

The temple situated at Achikkanam , Anandasramam ( via ) in Kasargod district. Lord Maha Vishnu is the main deity of this temple. Lord Ganesha & Lord Shiva are the sub deities of this temple.
Legend has it that about 500 years ago, a sage named Ammattakodal performed tapas, and as a result of his tapas, the auspicious Lord Vishnu appeared to all the demons. Later, Rishivaryan became a Samadhi there.

The place was formed by Aamattakodal Maharshivaryan and was later known as Ammangode and later as Ambankode. This idol of Aamattakodal Maharshi was later revered by the Maniyara family of Kuruvarambath in a small place and worshiped by Lord Vishnu through the Alampadi Tantri.
The Nair family had limited space for temple worship and running, so they donated some land and the temple to the present day Ambangode house.

Later, about 100 years ago, the Ambangkot house was built on the site of the present day temple.
