The temple is located at Manakkalappadi on the Kodungallur-Iringalakuda route in Thrissur district. The temple is about 1600 years old and may not even be heard of by the locals.
According to legends, the festival at Thuravoor Narasimha Swamy Temple was later renamed as 'Adappa' as the celebrations at the temple end with the Pooram.
Deity with a combination of Narasimha Murthy and Santhanagopala Murthy. Vattasreekovil is made entirely of granite.
The majesty of this temple is evidenced by the presence of Altara Ganapati, Sastav, Bhadrakali and 7 Kavus. In ancient times, the sages used the kokarni and its surroundings in this temple for penance.

ആൽത്തറ ഗണപതി, ശാസ്താവ്, ഭദ്രകാളി, 7 കാവുകൾ എന്നിവയുടെ സാന്നിധ്യം ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്റെ മഹത്വത്തിന് തെളിവാണ്. പുരാതന കാലത്ത് ഋഷിമാർ ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ കോകർണിയും പരിസരവും തപസ്സിനായി ഉപയോഗിച്ചിരുന്നു.
