Peringottukara Devasthanam is the only one of its kind which attracts its ever-growing devotees to its Sreekovil or altar, offering unconditional relief, solutions and peace redressing them of their deep sorrows, curses and mental agony. The temple has been attracting devotees from all parts of India and abroad. This popularly known 'KaliyugaVarada temple' is visited by thousands of devotees to get relief from deep sorrows, & Black Magic related issues. Peringottukara Devasthanam is the pioneering SreeVishnumaya Swami and Sree Bhuvaneswari Devi Temple with the tradition of centuries. We are the 5th generation to follow the holy steps of ParamachariyaVelumuthappa Swamikal, the first devotee who brought lord Sree Vishnumaya Swami to Peringottukara village. Today our family temple has become the shelter for devotees of all castes and religion. All devotees in India come to the temple as a pilgrimage for solving their problems of any. Here there is blessings for all and solution for all problems of mind and body. Sree Vishnumaya Swami, the divine child of Lord Siva and Parvathy Devi disguised as Koolivaka, who wished to live with the human beings amid the suffering and misery, is the main deity of Peringottukara Devasthanam. Blessing of Sree Vishnumaya Swami and SreeBuvaneswari Devi will drive away miseries of devotees and will fill the life with divine light of hope and success. Blessings is showered on the devotees by Sree Vishnumaya Swamy to get rid of miseries due to business failure, unpleasant married life, sorrow due to not getting married or having no children and misery due to ill-effects of Navagraha (Nine Planets) or Curse of some unknown or known powers. Take shelter in the refuge of Sri Vishnumaya Swami. Don’t worry about your caste or religion, you will be saved. Legendary Sree Narayana Guru visited Peringottukara and we follow his words ‘No caste No religion and Goodness is all’. The will of God here is against asking the status, caste, dignity or religion of the seeker of refuge. Peringotukara Devasthanam gives importance to Parama Bhakti and total surrender. Here ‘God and devotees are alike’. Here devotees come to materialize the dreams of marriage or to have blessings to have children, to enjoy happy family life, overcome family quarrels, to escape from bad-friendships and poverty to cure problem of education to children, and to escape from failure to attain success due to the evil-effects of Navagraha or curses of any kind. Visit the temple and have the vision of Lord Vishnumaya swami in the dancing form. You will be relieved of any illness and cured of all problems Blessings of Vishnumaya Swamy will bring eternal happiness and salvation. Visit the temple during pooja timings and be prospered. I feel contented to see the happy faces of devotees after fulfillment of dreams. If you can’t visit the holy place and conduct poojas, worship Sri Vishnumaya Swami and Sri Bhuvaneswari Devi as per our proper advice and lead a happy life let the blessings of Lord SreeVishnumaya Swami and Sree Bhuvaneswari Devi be showered unto you all.” Lord Vishnumaya is akin to Sastha, Muruka or Vikhneswara but this Sivanandana (The Child of Siva) is worshipped not in common but by a special kind of devotees who need an extraordinary result. “Vishnumaya is easily pleased and humane” are the words of Devotees. Let us look into the glory of Peringottukara Sree Vishnumaya. On his way for the divine hunt Lord Siva happens to see Koolivaka, a tribal woman. She was a devotee of Goddess Parvathy. “In the yester-birth, Koolivaka tried to suckle Ganapathy. Now she is to get a chance to foster Siva’s son” Siva approached Koolivaka and asked her to be ready to be his son’s mother. Koolivaka was a devotee of Parvathy. Knowing her plight, Parvathy disguised as Koolivaka and awaited to welcome Siva. Siva and disguised Koolivaka united resulting in the birth of a cute child. Siva and Parvathy appeared in front of Koolivaka and deputed her to foster the child. After living with Koolivaka for some years the child became mature enough to know the detail of his real parents. Then Sivanandana proceeded to the abode of Siva and rode on a cute Buffalo blowing his favourite Eezhara. When he was not allowed enter to the abode of Siva, Sivanandana assumed the form of Vishnu. Thus Sivanandana was known as ‘Vishnumaya'. When he was with his parents Lord Vishnumaya killed Demons like Bhringa and Jalandhara. Due to the divine deeds he had done was invited to live in heaven. Lord Vishnumaya sai “I prefer to live on the earth with the human beings”. This deity was worshiped by Punchanellur family in North Kerala. Velumuthappan Swami who wanted to protect the village from misery did strict penance to please Being pleased Bhuvaneswary for an apt solution. Bhuvaneswary appeared before him and said “Install the idol of Vishnumaya and worship with utmost devotion” Velumuthappan did as per the advice. One morning he got an idol of Vishnumaya from Triprayar River. He brought it to his house. Then he sought the advice of Punchanellur Family. The senior most person in the family blessed him with ‘Moolamanthra’ (The divine hymn). Velumuthappanswamy started worshiping Vishnumaya and some of his followers were chosen to be the Velichapadu of Vishnumaya cult. The shrine built by VelumuthappanSwamy has been served by 4 generations. Today the shrine has become famous as Peringottukara Devasthanam where many a devotee find a solution for their problems. The birthday of Lord Vishnumaya is celebrated as "Thiravellattu'.This day is most suited for the devotees to get their wishes fulfilled. The auspicious day for the next festival is predicted by God himself who perform dance on this day. The idol of founder priest sree Velumuthappan is also brought out from the Kushikalpam along with the idol of vishnmaya swamy. The Festival lasts for 9 days. Seven day musical programme is also held to please the God. The first kalam (magnificently decorated image) on the floor belongs to velu muthappan. The command of lord vishnumaya is that Velumuthappan should be adored first. From next day onwards all 7 kalams are arranged. The last day is the making if Lord vishnumaya's kalam . This is done with utmost care and dedication. T he devotees get all their wishes fulfilled and attain deliverance after seeing the full Roopkalam of Bhagavan. This opportunity is possible only once in an year . Then the God put his steps on the roopakalam which is consideredas the most sacred act. Afterwardes ,taking a bit of dust from this roopklam and keeping it at homes and worshiping is the custom follwed by the devotees. This ensures prosperity and rescue from all evils. During the period of Mandalakalam which includes malayalam month karkkidakam & vrichikam (july) only swasthika poojas are held. Before this poojas , kalamezhuthupatt programmes are also held in the month of midhuna &thula (November) . These auspeicious days are excellent for visiting the temple and to make offering and poojas. Collecting the dust from the kalam and keeping and worshiping it at a holy place in the house is considered to be auyspicious for it brings prosperity and scare away the evil spirits. After the completion of thiravellattu ,to please the mother of devasthanam Bhuvaneswari devi, Thottampattu festival is held. Kalamezhuthu (drawing and decorating of the idol on the floor) and taking out the idol in a procession playing traditional instruments and beating drums is also held on this occasion.
