Temple situated in Karuvannur village of Thrissur district. This temple is designed in such a way to get the overwhelmed vigour for devotees who arrive for prayer. The minute figure of the God extends from the idol to the outer wall. In Kodungalloor- Thrissur route at Karuvannur of Thrissur District situates this ancient God dess temple.
The sub deities are Ganapathy, Sasthavu, Durga and Vishnu. Origin of this temple is related with some historic facts. Dur ing the invasion of Tippu Sultan a family from Tirur Vettathu Nadu (now Malappuram District) in fear of the military assault ran away and took rest at Sankarath-uparambu in Karuvannur of Trichur District.
After a while when they began to proceed their journey they were not able to lift the ‘Olakuda’ (umbrella made with palm leaf). It is believed that the traditional Goddess who came with them for protection of that family was on the umbrella and in rememberence to that they constructed a temperory temple at that place for their family deity.
Later constructed this Vettukunnathukavu Temple as per all scientific calculations.
This family who reached from Vettathu Nadu was known as Vettiyattil family and temple known as Vettukunnathukavu Bhagavathy temple.
