Land of communal harmony, the main place of worship. Kumbhabharani and Meenabharani are the main religious festivals, the Seva and Anpolivazhipadu is very famous, it contains huge number of Para (a vessel used for measurement of paddy) arranged in rows and is the main attraction for pilgrims. On the day of kumbhabharani in temple, pindivillaku made out of plantain are lit in the evening.
Temple is 18 kilometres away from Kottayam, about 1.5 km from State highway from Kottayam to kozhancherry, with in village of karukachal. Ksrtc and Private busses are available for transportation.
The temple is dedicated to Bhadrakali, a serene figure. The idol of the goddess Poonda, who calms down after the slaying of Darika, is in a mirror image.
