Puthrikovil Sri Krishna Swamy Temple is a 500 year old temple located in the ancient village of Karamala in the Palakuzha Village (bordering Veliannur Village) in Muvattupuzha Taluk, Ernakulam District. This place is located about 5 km east of Koothattukulam and is surrounded by hills.This area was densely forested years ago.
It was in the possession of the nobles who came to worship Bhadrakali. During the same period, the Lords gave permission to build a temple near the Bhadrakali idol of Lord Krishna in the form of Santhanagopala, the deity of two Brahmin families who had migrated here.
Over time, the nobles left the land and the temple and its environs came under the complete control of the Brahmins.
These Brahmin families built a temple dedicated to Lord Krishna in the form of Santhanagopalamoorthy facing west with daily poojas. According to the ancients, the festival was held at this temple, which also had a flagpole.
One day the temple caught fire and all the parts of the temple except the shrine were gutted.
Time has passed only in the sanctum sanctorum and the two floors of the Valiyambalas.
During the period 2014-2015, the Sri Krishnaswamy Temple Trust was formed in Puthrikovil through the efforts of the pious natives. The temple is being renovated under the supervision of Brahmashree Aryan Namboodiripad and Kanippayyoor Harithan Namboodiripad at Tantri Manayathattillam under the said trust.
Many people testify that the devotees who perform poojas at this temple get Mangalya Yoga and Ishtasanthana Saubhagya Yoga. * Here is one of the rare temples facing west
Bhadrakali, Shiva, Durga and the serpent are the sub deities. Rakesh Namboothiri is the Melshanthi of this temple.

ശ്രീകോവിലിലും വലിയമ്പലങ്ങളുടെ ഇരുനിലകളിലും മാത്രം കാലം കടന്നുപോയി.
2014-2015 കാലഘട്ടത്തിൽ പുതൃക്കോവിൽ ശ്രീകൃഷ്ണസ്വാമി ക്ഷേത്രം ട്രസ്റ്റ് രൂപീകരിച്ചത് ഭക്തരായ നാട്ടുകാരുടെ ശ്രമഫലമായാണ്. പ്രസ്തുത ട്രസ്റ്റിന്റെ കീഴിലുള്ള തന്ത്രി മനയത്താറ്റില്ലത്ത് ബ്രഹ്മശ്രീ ആര്യൻ നമ്പൂതിരിപ്പാടിന്റെയും കാണിപ്പയ്യൂർ ഹരിതൻ നമ്പൂതിരിപ്പാടിന്റെയും മേൽനോട്ടത്തിലാണ് ക്ഷേത്രം നവീകരിക്കുന്നത്.
ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ പൂജകൾ നടത്തുന്ന ഭക്തർക്ക് മംഗല്യയോഗവും ഇഷ്ടസന്താന സൗഭാഗ്യയോഗവും ലഭിക്കുമെന്ന് പലരും സാക്ഷ്യപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു. * പടിഞ്ഞാറോട്ട് ദർശനമുള്ള അപൂർവ ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിലൊന്നാണിത്
ഭദ്രകാളി, ശിവൻ, ദുർഗ്ഗ, സർപ്പം എന്നിവരാണ് ഉപദേവതകൾ. രാകേഷ് നമ്പൂതിരിയാണ് ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ മേൽശാന്തി.
