This is a very ancient Vishnu temple located on the banks of the river Karukadam between Kothamangalam and Muvattupuzha on the Kochi-Dhanushkodi National Highway (NH 85) in Ernakulam district (7 km from Muvattupuzha and 5 km from Kothamangalam - Karukadam Ambalappadi).
Thursday and Thiruvonam are special for darshan. Ashtamirohini, Kucheladinam, Poonthanadinam, Vishu, Deeparadhana during the Mandala period, Bhagavatha week and Kalabhabhishakam are also celebrated annually. In the month of May, on the eve of Vishu, the six-day flag-raising festival is celebrated.
Apart from the regular offerings, the main offerings are Palpayasam, Chandanam Charthu and Thiruvonam Oott. The old shrine was demolished and rebuilt in black stone. The rest of the renovation work is intended to be done.
