Ilayassery is one of the three important temples under the jurisdiction of the Kudumbayogam. The temple situated at Nooranad in Alappuzha district. Here Balamurugan is enshrined. The main festival is Thaipuyam. Every month on the days of Sashti, a special Sashtivritha Pooja is performed and women devotees perform Sashtivritha Noyamb. Panchamritabhishekam is performed every Tuesday. The temple is dedicated to Lord Ganesha, Lord Shiva, Dharmasastha, Bhadrakali, Rakshasas and Yogiswaran.
